On Sunday April 10th Chippenham Cricket Club took part in a National Nat West Cricketforce Day in order to get their pitch and grounds shipshape for the new season.
The idea is to get local members of the community and local businesses to volunteer for one day to help their local club. Sightscreens were painted, and nets repaired, and we even built a shed for coaching equipment. Add to this lots of cleaning, sweeping, weed pulling, and hole filling and we had a very successful day.
Local businesses supporting included “Twill be done” Garden Services, Landwades Business Park, The New School of English, Alwyn Moss, and AT Photography.
Chris Reeks, owner of La Hogue Farm Shop, also cooked breakfast for all the volunteers and our Coach Martin Eeles provided some coaching for the youngsters while the parents helped out with the work!
You can check out a video showing some of the action below and pictures from the day are in the Gallery.
