Lords Taverners confirm funding for nets

Lords Taveners have confirmed that they will support our plans for new nets to the tune of £3K, which means we now have all the funding in place. We are now looking to confirm when the work can be done, which will be hopefully the end of April.

The £32000 needed has come from the following sources;

Club Funds £3200

New School of English £1500

Dorcas Trust £1500

Chippenham Parish Council £2000

East Cambs District Council £10000

AmeyCespa Community Fund (DCF) £10800

Lords Taverners  £3k

Thanks to everyone for their support

A quick snapshot of what happened at the AGM

The Club’s AGM for 2012 took place on Wednesday February 8th at The Tharp Arms with around 30 people attending. Thanks to all of you who came. If you weren’t there here is a quick update on the key points.

The club is well ahead with their plans to install two new nets at the ground. It is hoped that funding will be in place by the end of February, which should mean we have them for the start of the season.

The club will be running a 2nd XI on a Saturday this summer. Darren Hughes will captain the side and matches will take place between April 28th and July 21st. All games will be 40 over matches.

We have a full fixture list on Sunday’s although there will be no game on Jubilee weekend.

The Club have registered for ECB Clubmark status. This is an ECB accreditation that you are a properly run club and everything in place for a safe environment for players (in particular juniors) to develop their skills.

The club will be running an U11 team this summer that will play in a local West Suffolk League. Adrian Watts will be managing the team.

A sub committee has been set up to help run the Junior Section of the club. This will be made up of Adrian Watts, Nicki Rutter, Jane Van de Peer and Darren Hughes.

After our very successful Cricketforce Day last year we will be once again running another one to open up the ground for this summer. Breakfast, Lunch and regular tea and coffee will be provided for those who come to help.

To help improve the club communication and encourage people to get more involved we have launched a new website (thanks for visiting it!) and we can now be followed on twitter @chippenhamcamcc. In addition we will shortly be launching our Facebook page.

It was agreed that membership of the club will be £25 for 2012 and match fees will be £6 for adults and £3 for juniors.
