Tour is total wash out!

Our annual tour was a major disapointment this year without a ball being bowled. The Kent weather was cruel to us with 3 days of rain sandwiched in between beautiful weather on our days of arrival and departure.

Good week for the chippenham senior sides

Although the club were on tour last week we still managed to field a side in the evening Midweek League and those left behind were the only ones to get any cricket! In addition, our game was the only one in the league that beat the weather and Chippenham took full advantage beating top of the table Ely to replace them at the top.

After the dissapointing defeat at Over the first XI returned to winning ways with an easy victory against Fen Ditton, winning by 83 runs. Chippenham batted first posting 177-8 helped by a good opening partnership between Ollie Rix and captain Simon Heather. Fen Ditton never looked like getting the runs and were bowled out for 94.

The Sunday side played out a draw on Sunday. Batting second they looked like chasing down the 200 set by Kirtling until Paul Mangell had to retire hurt and the new bastman struggled to get us home and we finished 11 runs short of their total
