2014 Cricket Force Day Saturday 29th March

Our first fixtures are fast approaching and the ground is looking great already. However there are still a number of jobs we need to do to get things ship shape for the first match. Therefore our annual cricket force day will take place on Sat 29th March  from 9 am to 12.30 am. If you can spare an hour or two to do some painting , cleaning  ,mending stiles plus other stuff then please come along. Bring any tools you think will help + paint brushes. Nat West are sponsoring the day so at the very least you will get a free Tee shirt and a bacon sandwich and a warm feeling that you have done something positive to kick start the season. Hopefully see you all on the 29th.

Matthew Hoggard joins Chippenham coaching staff!

The club is pleased to announce that Ex England Cricketer Matthew Hoggard will be visiting Chippenham on Saturday May 31st and will be doing some coaching with adult and junior members.

Hoggard was part of the England team who regained the Ashes in dramatic circumstances in 2005 and represented England 93 times in all forms of the game. He took 248 test wickets and in 2006 was ranked the fourth best bowler in the world. A Yorshireman, he spent many years playing for his home county before moving to Leicestershire in 2010. He retired from cricket this summer.

He is also one of a select few players who have taken a hat-trick in test matches, it came against the West Indians and you can see it below:

The club want to give as many club members as possible the chance to meet Matthew and will be announcing more about the plans for his visit over the coming weeks.
